Hans´CV

Hans has spent his career teaching English and communication in English at levels ranging from primary schools to university level, as well as writing and publishing textbooks for the same (see publications). He also has many years of management experience in higher education and the publishing world.

His combined experience of teaching and management enables him to look at communication and teaching challenges from both sides of the educational coin: creativity in development and design, on the one hand, and efficient and practical outcomes necessary for the successful running of a classroom on the other. He has lots of experience with students from different cultures.

Hans has an MA degree in English language, linguistics and professional translation, and holds various teaching qualifications. He is joint coordinator of IATEFL's Young Learners and Teenagers Special Interest Group. He is also a member of the UK-based Materials Development Association (MATSDA), a member of the Association for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (NSW) and a member of the Australian Council of TESOL Associations.

His special interest areas are:

  • Teaching English to Young learners (6-18)
  • EFL ESL Course development for all age groups
  • Writing songs for the teaching of English
  • Series editing
