Course design and development

We specialise in writing materials for English language teaching and learning. Textbooks, workbooks, teachers' guides, CDrom content, online resources, worksheets, and all other thinkable types and kinds of teaching resources. We'll develop the language you need!

Our long-standing experience in materials development for English as a foreign or second language make us a suitable partner for your educational or publishing needs. Publishing Consultancy

Materials analysis - You have a team working on materials for publication but need a reader for regular assessment of copy and manuscripts? Southern Cross Connexxions can provide you with the expertise you need. Careful analysis and balanced reporting from an 'outsider' will tell you whether you are on the right track. We deliver assessment either on the basis of your own criteria (e.g. readers' questionnaires) or can devise an assessment criteria list ourselves.

Format development - You wish to enter into a specific market with a new product. You have lots of ideas that do not yet form an integrated whole. So you need a proper 'blue-print' document before you decide to go ahead? Guidelines, structure, teaching philosophy, overviews of grammar and language functions etc. We can provide you with a detailed plan to suit your needs.

Publication advice - You have been sent a manuscript and you are looking for advice on whether to publish it? We have written many books for many levels of education, so we have a pretty good idea of what is potentially good and what it not. We read and assess your manuscript.

Educational Writers Workshops

There are many enthusiastic teachers out there who develop their own materials, slaving away at home devising exercises many a precious evening. Some of those may be wanting to publish their materials but are perhaps not confident enough about the quality, or do not know where to go or how to go about it. Others would simply like to improve their skill in writing their own stuff, because they are dissatisfied with the quality of the exercises and tasks in the coursebooks they use.
